Our Blues Brothers tribute debuted a few years ago, but it was such a hit that I'm bringing it back for Halloween.
Kent and I have been huge Saturday Night Live fans since the very beginning. One of my favorite memories is staying up late with my mom to watch the show. She never seemed to worry that it might be a little inappropriate for kids, and I'm grateful for that.
In those early years, John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd were two of our favorites. On April 22, 1978, they first appeared as Jake and Elwood Blues, performing "Hey Bartender" and "I Don't Know." They returned later that year and, of course, went on to star in The Blues Brothers movie in 1980.
What started on SNL became a genuine musical phenomenon. The Blues Brothers introduced a whole new generation to classic blues and soul artists, proving that comedy and great musicianship could go hand in hand.
The Blues Brothers combined three things we love: comedy, classic soul and blues, and live music. I think Kent and I do a pretty stellar job channeling Jake and Elwood ourselves!
